A Better Direction For Nova Scotia

Reform Nova Scotia is a conservative,

reform-minded organization working to build a better political direction for our province.

We believe Nova Scotians deserve responsible government, affordable living, safe communities, strong families, individual freedom and public institutions guided by merit, fairness and common sense.

Our purpose is to bring together people who share that direction, develop practical ideas and advocate for better government.

Why Reform Nova Scotia

Many Nova Scotians believe the province is moving in the wrong direction and that their concerns are not being adequately represented in public debate or government decision-making.

Living costs, housing, taxes and public spending continue to rise while essential services struggle. At the same time, concerns about public safety, personal freedom, parental authority, equal treatment and political ideology in public institutions are too often dismissed or ignored.

Reform Nova Scotia exists  to bring together people who share a conservative, reform-minded direction grounded in responsible government, individual freedom, equality before the law, safe communities, strong families, merit, politically neutral institutions and practical results.

An organization seeking to influence government and public policy should begin with clear principles, not a collection of disconnected positions.

These principles provide a consistent basis for evaluating problems, setting priorities and developing practical proposals. Detailed positions will be informed by evidence, experience and their consequences for Nova Scotians.

They are not a detailed policy program or a closed list. They provide the foundation for the practical proposals and priorities that follow.

These principles are not a detailed platform or a closed list. They provide the foundation for the practical policies and priorities that follow.
Government belongs to the people and must live within its means.

Nova Scotia’s history, culture and heritage should be respected, protected and passed on to future generations.

Public services should be judged by results, not spending announcements.

3

Citizens should be free, equal before the law and responsible for their choices.

4

Families are the foundation of a healthy society.

Our Direction

Prosperity comes from work, enterprise and the opportunity to build and own something.
6

Safe and orderly communities are a basic responsibility of government

7

Public institutions should serve their public purpose and remain politically neutral.
8

Nova Scotia should remain a place where people can work, build, raise a family and create a future.

9

10

Each generation has a responsibility to leave Nova Scotia stronger than it found it.

Who is this for?

Reform Nova Scotia is for people who work, build businesses, raise families, serve their communities and want a fair opportunity to create a good life here.

It is for Nova Scotians who may not consider themselves especially political but recognize that our province needs a different direction.

It is for people who expect government to perform its essential responsibilities competently, respect the people paying for it and remain accountable for the results it produces.

Political experience is not required. A broadly shared direction, sound judgment and a willingness to work constructively are what matter.

Built from the bottom up

Reform Nova Scotia is building the people, capacity and organization required to represent the concerns of ordinary Nova Scotians and advance a serious conservative, reform-minded direction.

That work brings together people with experience in business, public service, law, accounting, research, communications, technology, fundraising, community organization and many other fields.

Practical experience, good judgment and a genuine desire to contribute are more important than political experience.

Our principles provide the foundation. Practical proposals and priorities will be developed carefully, drawing upon evidence, expertise and real-world experience.

Help build what comes next.

Reform Nova Scotia is bringing together capable people who believe our province needs a stronger voice for responsible government, individual freedom and practical reform.

Some will contribute professional expertise, organizational ability or community knowledge. Others may support the organization, stay informed or simply begin by learning more.

If you share our direction and want to follow or contribute to the work, we invite you to get involved.
